CARing FOR
YOUR handBAG

Our bags are one of a kind and if cared for will last a life time.

Like any leather product they all need caring for. They need cleaning and feeding to prevent cracking and the leather drying out.

This is no different for vegetable tan leather but the more you protect veg tan the better condition the products will stay.

We highly recommend using this care routine on your leather goods at least once a month. This will keep everything in tip top condition.

Veg tan leather smooth

We recommend using a leather conditioning soap with a damp sponge on the outer shell. Use soft circular motions to clean the bag.

Once cleaned use a soft micro fibre cloth to wipe off any excess of moisture and soap.

To feed the leather we recommend a balsalm to condition and soften. Use a small amount on each outer panel and strap. Buff the product in with a clean micro fibre cloth and apply more product if needed.

We also recommend to finishing this care routine using a traditional Dubbin wax on the leather goods. This will prevent rain marks on the leather and help with protecting the outer shell of the bags.

Please do not wipe soap, balsalm and wax onto suede. If this does occur quickly remove with a cloth and wipe with a damp cloth. Leave to dry over night

Suede

Suede gives a luxury feel for a handbag but it can mark easily if not cared for.

We recommend before using your new handbag to use a suede and nubuck spray. Spray lightly inside until all suede has been covered. Let rest and dry for an hour then your new purchase is ready to hit the town.

Please do not spray vegetable tan leather with suede spray. If any suede spray does land on the veg tan, wipe off quickly with a clean cloth.

Metal hardware

Our hardware is triple chromed and coated in anti-tarnish but it will still wear and scratch.

If needed use a dry micro fibre cloth to buff and clean the metal. Metal polish can be used to give a high shine to the hardware. Please do not use anything abrasive on hardware this will result in scratches.

Veg tan leather crackled

Crackled veg tan is more prone to scratches and rain marks so a care routine is very important to keeping her looking her best.

If a scratch does occur, please apply pressure to the marked area gently with clean fingers or a cloth. Rub the leather and the warmth from your hands will pull out light scratches. Please do not wipe soap, balsalm and wax onto suede. If this does occur quickly remove with a cloth and wipe with a damp cloth. Leave to dry over night

Hair on hide (recycled/repurposed leather)

Hair on hide can shed a little to start with. It is where we have cut into the hair to make the panels for the bag. So please don’t be alarmed.

We recommend gently brushing through the hair with a very soft brush to remove dirt and dust. If needed use a damp clean cloth and run the cloth in the direct of the hair.

This will clean the fibres and remove marks if any occur. Leave to dry for a few hours and finish with a gentle brush through to lay the hairs back down in the natural direction.

Please do not use veg tan products on hair on hide leather.

STORING
YOUR
HANDBAG

Storing correctly is very important to get longevity out of the leather and the handbags.

We recommend storing in a cool dark place and out of reach of sunlight. The sunlight will bleach the leather and cause damage resulting in cracking. Keep away from places with moisture.

Please use dust bag provided with handbag to store. This will prevent dust and dirt settling onto the leather.

Store the handbags upright on a flat surface so not to crease the leather. The large strap should be detached and folded nicely inside of handbag. This will prevent
the strap creasing and bending.
